Tiruchirappalli (Formerly Anna University Tiruchirappalli) has been
established as a Technical University by the Government of Tamilnadu.
The University is functioning from 01-02-2007 at Tiruchirappalli, which
is famously known as Rock Fort city. The University is situated 17Kms
away in the main highway of Tiruchirappalli to Pudukkottai.
Anna University was established as an Unitary type of University at
Chennai (formerly, Madras) in the year 1978 with four constituent
institutions viz., College of Engineering, Guindy, Alagappa College of
Technology, Guindy, School of Architecture and Planning, Guindy and
Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet.
