Bharti Airtel has launched the first operator based mobile wallet service in
India though its subsidiary Airtel M Commerce Services Limited (AMSL). Already
in operation in Delhi NCR and Chennai in its beta stages, the service is now
available throughout the country. With the help of Airtel money, subscribers
on the Airtel network can use their mobile phones to pay utility bills, make
purchases at merchant outlets, and transfer money to any other person within
300 cities across India. However, as of this writing, it is unclear if the
transfer will be limited between Airtel users only.

Subscribe: Dial *400# / register on www.airtelmoney.in / visit nearest airtel money
retailer to fill the application form and submit KYC documents (2 copies of identity
proof, 1 copy of address proof, 1 passport size photo)
Activate: Simply choose your MPIN to activate the account
Load cash: Load cash by visiting your nearest airtel retail outlet or through your
net banking account

The mobile wallets are generally very secure even in case users miss place their
handset. Airtel mobile wallet service can be used by any Airtel customer with any
handset.
