Renault Pulse prices to be hiked

Renault Pulse prices to be hiked

Renault India Pvt Ltd, the fully owned
subsidiary of Renault s.a.s., today
announced a price increase for its
compact premium car – the Pulse.
Renault Pulse was launched in the
Indian market during the New Delhi
Auto Expo in January, 2012 with an
introductory price of Rs. 5.77 lakh
(ex-showroom, Delhi). Faced with
rising input costs the company has
decided to increase the price of the
Pulse by around 2% across India.
Renault India also sells the premium
sedan Fluence and the premium SUV Koleos in the Indian market. While the Fluence
was the entry vehicle for the company when it was launched in May, 2011, the
Koleos was an addition to its stable in September, 2011. The launch of the Pulse
added substantially to Renault’s customer base in India with the car receiving an
enthusiastic reception from both the media and customers alike.

Due to the rising input costs, the sticker price of both the variants of the Pulse, the
RxL and the RxZ have gone up by Rs 10,000 and 12,000 respectively.

The Pulse epitomizes Renault’s philosophy of bringing affordable cars with innovative
technology and design. The Pulse comes equipped with the new K9K engine that
ranks among the best-in-class in terms of fuel consumption and performance
(according to ARAI test data the Pulse achieves 23.02KPL). The Pulse is
manufactured in the Renault Nissan Alliance factory located in Oragadam on the
outskirts of Chennai.

The Renault Pulse is powered by the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that develops 63bhp
and is available only in two trims – a base RxL and top-end RxZ. It was launched at
the Auto Expo in January at an introductory price of Rs 5.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
