Vettai: Moview Review 2012

Vettai: Moview Review 2012

‘Vettai’ starring Madhavan and Arya that released last week is reportedly doing great overseas.

Story: Thirumurthy (Madhavan), who is scared of any sort of violence, is tricked by younger brother
Gurumurthy (Arya) into taking up the job of a sub-inspector after their father dies in harness.

Chocolate hero Aarya and beautiful Amala Paul's on-screen chemistry is one of the highlights of
recently released Vettai. In fact, their romantic scenes, which include quite a few kissing
sequences, were liked by the audience. However, little less they know that the Madrasapattinam
star was shy to do the lip lock sequences and he was even embarrassed to shoot.

What would be your expectations when you’re all set to watch a movie from the maker of mass
commercial movies ‘Sandakozhi’, ‘Bheema’ and ‘Paiyaa’? Yet another movie of its genre isn’t?
Doubtlessly, ‘Vettai’ becomes a superb entertainer for all with its rich ingredients of
commercial elements – fun, action, romance, glamour, sentiments, etc, etc… The basic plot of
the film might be little hackneyed, for we get to know it right before the opening titles.

Set in the coastal town of Thoothukudi and the surrounding countryside, “Vettai” partakes of
the something-for-everyone formula, mixing the serious — corruption, evil gangs and
limb-threatening fights — with the less so: songs, romance and comedy. It entertains without
breaking any new ground, though it can also surprise.

Maddy and Arya look super cool as siblings in the film and have helped the film do handsome business.

Kudos to the ‘Vettai’ team!
