CNN to buy Mashable ?

Mashable, an American news website and news blog founded by Pete Cashmore in 2005,
The blog is headquartered in New York City, with an office in San Francisco.  is
specialised in stories about technology and social media, however now it also
covers business and entertainment.In addition to more than 15 million monthly
visitors, Mashable has more than four million social media followers across Twitter,
Facebook, Google+.

Reuters' blogger Felix Salmon said the sale could be announced as early as Tuesday
in a deal worth more than $200m at the South by Southwest conference in Austin,
Texas,

There is also a social media hint about this acquisition. Reportedly, Adam Ostrow,
the executive editor of Mashable, "liked" Salmon's story for Reuters on Facebook.

The New York Times confirmed on Monday that CNN was in advanced talks to acquire
the website, but reported that network representatives denied a deal would be
announced on Tuesday. The Times also reported that sources familiar with the
situation advised it could fall through.

CNN, which is owned by Time Warner Inc, has been trying to evolve its business to
address competition from online news sites. (ANI)
